No prior experience is necessary — just bring a desire to experiment and get creative! This workshop is all about exploring colour, techniques, and having fun with the process. Whether you’re a seasoned fibre artist or a complete beginner, you’ll be guided every step of the way and encouraged to tap into your creativity.

Join us for a fun half-day workshop at Green Gable Alpacas, where you’ll dive into the process of turning alpaca fibre into beautiful hand-dyed yarn! We’ll start with a behind-the-scenes tour of our alpaca breeding and fibre production farm, where you’ll meet our alpacas and learn about the sustainable practices that shape our yarns. Then, we’ll head to the studio for a hands-on dyeing session, where you’ll get creative with colour theory and dyeing techniques. By the end, you’ll leave with your own custom-dyed skein to take home. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with your craft and find new inspiration!
In this workshop, you will learn:
- The farm-to-fibre journey from herd to hand-dyed yarn
- How technique, fibre type, and base colour affect dye results, and why small variables can have big effects
- Hands-on skein dyeing, leave with a custom-dyed skein you made yourself
