Charlene and Debbie Miller are the creative forces behind Periwinkle Laine, bringing colour, curiosity, and a whole lot of joy to the world of rug hooking. Based in Prince Edward Island, these cousins-turned-creative-partners are deeply passionate about the craft and the community that grows around it.
Known for their fearless use of colour, love of texture, and playful approach to design, Charlene and Debbie believe rug hooking should be expressive, personal, and — most importantly — fun. Their work blends traditional techniques with fresh ideas, encouraging hookers to experiment, trust their instincts, and embrace their own creative voice.
As teachers, they do far more than instruct. They engage, encourage, and genuinely connect, taking time with each participant to build confidence, spark ideas, and create a relaxed, welcoming space where everyone feels supported. Laughter is part of the lesson, questions are always welcome, and there’s no such thing as “doing it wrong.”
Whether they’re teaching, hosting hook-ins, or chatting over wool tables, Charlene and Debbie are known for making people feel at home — leaving students inspired, energized, and eager to keep hooking.
