The Lacework Scarf: A Luxury Prefelt Masterclass – Elise Campbell

Indulge in the softer side of wet felting. This class is perfect for beginners who want a stunning result, or experienced felters looking for a faster, more elegant way to create luxury accessories. All materials supplied by workshop.

Duration: 4 hours | Capacity: 10
Location: Level 1 – Souris Room

In this streamlined 4-hour masterclass, Elise Campbell introduces a modern approach to creating high-end, wearable art without the gruelling physical labour of traditional Nuno felting. Using ultra-soft, 19-micron Merino prefelt as our canvas, you will design a “lacework” scarf that is as light as air but incredibly durable. Elise will guide you through the sophisticated techniques of lengthening fabric beyond its original dimensions, healing edges for a professional finish, and integrating silk or viscose fibres to add painterly shine and movement.

  • Fabric Manipulation: How to strategically cut and “stretch” prefelt to create length and lace patterns.
  • Seamless Edges: Professional techniques for smooth, healed borders.
  • Fibre Integration: Layering protein and plant fibres for lustre and texture.
  • Structural Integrity: How to strengthen thin “lace” connections to ensure a scarf that lasts.
