Master Bottom Up Crochet Beanies! – Sarah Thompson

Participants should have an introductory knowledge of basic crochet stitches such as how to make a foundation chain, double crochet and half double crochet.

Looking for a great one skein project for that special, hand-dyed yarn? Fall in love with bottom up beanies! In this workshop we will begin (and maybe finish!) working on a one-skein crochet hat pattern that features a beautiful texture and option for colour!

Crochet Stitches found in the hat pattern include:

  • Front Post Double Crochet
  • Back Post Double Crochet
  • Half Double Crochet
  • Half Double Crochet Two Together
  • Please bring your own yarn. You will need about 200 yards of a favourite worsted weight yarn. This hat was designed with hand dyed yarn in mind! Feel free to bring some yarn you have purchased from the market. In the photos you will see the hat worked in hand dyed wool purchased from the festival in 2025!
  • 5 mm (H/8) crochet hook
  • A free copy (printed and/or digital) of the crochet pattern will be provided.
