Wet Felted Shell Necklace – Elise Campbell

Elevate your felting skills and your wardrobe by making a one-of-a-kind felted necklace. Taking inspiration from beautiful mussel shells, students will learn how to create a lightweight, high quality 3D sculpture (shell) over a resist. Students will learn how to make an even and durable cord for the necklace and attach it to the shell. Participants will learn about using a resist to prevent fibre migration, cutting as a prefelt, and healing cut edges. This class will get to play with “bling,” or specialty fibres, and will enjoy felting with some of the finest wool available (16 micron merino).
