Scandiwork Slipper Class – Kristin Drysdale

Maximum participants: 20

This class teaches you everything you need to know about colourwork in a nutshell. You will be making either my Sørinne Slippers or my Sterne or Olsen Slipper from The Nordic Knitting Primer. This is an intensive colourwork class. Knitters will learn how to knit and purl with two coulors at once by holding the yarn in one hand or in two hands. You will learn how and when and why to catch floats. Learn to read charts. How to decrease in colourwork, and my favourite longtail cast on, and how to join seamlessly in the round. You will improve your DPN/flexiflip skills. We learn about gauge and sizing. And learn how to do a Norwegian braid to finish off the slippers. After making these slippers, you will have the colourwork skills to knit anything you want in colourwork.

Materials needed:

Gauge-size DPNs or Flexiflips. Suggested needle size: US 4/3.5 mm.

Skill level:

Intermediate. If you are an enthusiastic beginner and you know how to knit and purl with confidence, you can take this class.

Tickets are non-refundable except in limited circumstances as described in the Purchase Policy.
