KNITTING

Mosaic Knitting – Let’s Get Stuck In! – Jo Bint

Maximum participants: 16

Do you like colourwork knitting but hate carrying your floats? Did you know mosaic knitting is as easy as knitting stripes?

In this workshop, we will explore the mosaic knitting technique, also known as slipped stitch knitting. We will look at some examples and discuss the limitations of these patterns and how they differ from traditional colourwork. We will learn how to read a mosaic chart before getting started on swatching for a brand-new cowl pattern. This pattern gives you the choice to use up to three different mosaic charts and you will have the opportunity to try all the charts during class. We will look at the differences in texture that come with changing between stocking stitch and garter stitch in these charts. You will choose which to use for your own unique cowl!

Materials supplied:

All workshop attendees will receive an exclusive cowl pattern which includes three mosaic stitch charts to allow customisation of their fabulous finished accessory.

Materials needed:

Participants are required to bring fingering weight yarn in at least two contrasting colours and needles necessary to meet stocking stitch gauge of approximately 28sts and 24 rows in 4” (10cm). Finished cowl will use up to 100g of main colour and 50g of contrasting colour(s).

Tickets are non-refundable except in limited circumstances as described in the Purchase Policy.
