The Pendergast Family

The Trailside Music Hall will be the home of the PEI Fibre Festival’s first Harbour Hullabaloo. Just a short 12-minute walk from the Delta hotel, this event will bring you songs, stories, and food of our Island served by the local Dali Café. Celebrate with the multi-talented Pendergast family.

Robert Pendergast will be your host. Robert was cut from the Island clay in the 1970s, born into a family filled with storytelling, music, and with a healthy love of food. Growing up in Saint Louis, PEI, he was deep-rooted in cultural and musical traditions. One of six children, Robert travelled and cooked throughout Europe and Canada. He also explored the music, arts, and cultures he discovered. His mixed Irish and Acadian heritage, and growing up in a musical household gave him a strong appetite for unique sounds; inspired by the island ways.

According to Robert, Islanders have a unique relationship with food, arts, and culture:

There’s a generosity at the local level. People want to share things. They don’t want to just sell it to you, but they want to sit down and enjoy it with you too.

Robert will be joined by his brother David, his sister Monique, and multi-instrumentalist André Doucette. They all love playing and harmonizing together!

They look forward to meeting you, so they may feed your soul with songs and stories rooted in Island and Acadian heritage.
