Felted Mushroom and Snail on a Wood Slice – Lisa Freeman
Maximum participants: 24
Participants will learn the basics of needle felting, working with PEI sheep wool. If you have a small shell you would like to use, please bring it along, if not some will be provided or you will learn how to make the snail all out of wool. The wood slice is Fiona wood!
There will be several mushroom samples to take inspiration from, oodles of wool colours to work with. Your project can be one larger mushroom on a wood slice or a few smaller ones. The goal is to have you leave the workshop with a completed piece ready to take home.
Tickets are non-refundable except in limited circumstances as described in the Purchase Policy.
Lisa Freeman
Lisa moved here from Ontario in 2016.
For over thirty years her business was interior decorating and design, working in Toronto, GTA and throughout cottage country. The decorating industry, working with fabrics, paints, furniture and accessories was the perfect venue for her creativity and attention to detail. Visiting the Maritimes one summer Lisa and husband Lee fell in love with PEI. In 2016 they made the fearless move to the island and made it their full time home.
Lisa enjoyed crafts and now having some time to explore her interest in jewellery, sea glass and wool, the tactile and colourful needle felting became a full time love.
In 2017 Messy Crow Studio was hatched, a quaint seasonal studio on their Souris property that has been welcoming islanders, summer residents and tourists ever since.
Lisa’s work includes needle felting flat works framed in handmade wood frames and fun dimensional pieces. There are wooly bookmarks, greeting cards and a unique line of jewellery. Workshops are held throughout the spring to Christmas time.
