3D Weaving – Notions Bowl – Anne Caissie

Maximum participants: 15

During this workshop participants will learn simple weaving techniques & fun & exciting warp manipulation to transform their flat weaving into a small 3-dimensional bowl that is perfect for holding notions such as stitch markers or progress keepers.

Techniques covered in the workshop:
  • simple lark’s head warping
  • tabby weave
  • warp manipulation
  • embellishment of bowl
Materials to bring to class:

Participants should bring a 20 x 24 frame loom or old picture frame or q-snap & any sort of embellishment they might want on their bowl (i.e. charms, buttons, pins, etc). I will provide warp & weft materials in a variety of colours.

Anne Caissie

Anne Caissie, aka The 3 a.m. Knitter, has been working with fibre in one way or another for 50+ years.  She is a mostly self-taught creator who is wildly fascinated by the magic of weaving.  Anne is an aspiring knitwear designer who can be found most days knitting, weaving or cross stitching in her little home studio in Pictou, Nova Scotia.  Anne loves to share her love of creating with everyone she meets!  A passionate supporter of all Canadian makers & creators, Anne shares her favourites on her YouTube podcast, The 3 a.m. Knitter.
