Workshop – Steeking without Fear (or Fainting) Class
Before the class you will need to knit the Selbu Thermos Cozy so we can get right to work and have a for a hands-on steeking experience. We will be securing the steek with a row of crochet and cutting the steek, then covering the cut edges of the steek with the button band, and finishing the button band off with an I-cord finish. After we finished the Selbu cozy, you will learn 2 additional ways to finish and conceal a steek including my all-time favorite Norwegian buttonband. Beyond the steek we will be covering a whole lot about sweater construction and fit and finishing, and learning how to incorporate steeks into your knitting, and learn when the different methods are appropriate to use. We will also discuss colorwork techniques to improve your colorwork skills. Each knitter will complete at least one steek but will have the option to work on three different steeks. Patterns will be emailed for the Selbu Thermos Cozy, and 2 cup cozies after ticket purchase.
