Workshop – Ingrid Fingerless Mitts from the Nordic Knitting Primer
This is a wonderful class to dive into colorwork knitting with a bit of purling. We will be making my Ingrid Mitts from the Nordic Knitting Primer, knit with local Fleece and Harmony Selkirk Worsted yarn. We will focus on all the colorwork skills, ambidextrous knitting and purling, and knitting and purling with two strands in your left hand. We will learn how to catch floats and to read charts while knitting and purling. I’ll share my favorite way to cast on and bind off. I will also teach you how to weave in and out colors so you will no longer have to weave in ends when you complete a project. You are going to love this trick. This yarn works up so quickly and beautifully that you will fall in love with colorwork. We will end the class with a nifty crochet finish around the thumbhole.
