A love of woodworking and a fascination with hand-spinning have inspired me to make functional, heirloom-quality tools for the fibre arts. I began by making drop spindles and over the years have sent hundreds of spindles all around the world. I also make knitting accessories such as yarn holders, swifts and nostepinnes, in addition to wooden tools for felting, rug hooking and sewing. Working with maple, birch and cherry woods carefully selected from forests near my workshop in southwestern Nova Scotia is particularly enjoyable. To accentuate the beautiful qualities of these woods, I use natural oil and resin finishes whenever possible. It is my sincere hope that the passion and hard work I put into making my products inspires those who use them to create objects of beauty and lasting value for many years to come.
