CALL FOR INSTRUCTORS
Deadline for submissions: January 15, 2024
We heard ewe! Instructors gave us great advice in 2023 and we will incorporate some of their suggestions in 2024. Please read the following information carefully before submitting your application.
Lunch breaks for instructors giving back-to-back workshops will be a minimum of 90 minutes and in most cases will be 2 hours.
Instructors and vendors have asked to have the opportunity to meet other instructors and vendors. To this end, there will be a meet and greet on Thursday October 3rd from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. An official opening of the Marketplace will take place following at 7 pm.
The host hotel (Delta by Marriott) is the only facility large enough to accommodate the PEI Fibre Festival and has supported the PEI Fibre Festival since the beginning, through COVID, and Hurricane Fiona. As the PEI Fibre Festival is a non-profit organization, we strive to keep costs down for participants. Our meeting space cost is partially determined by the number of guest rooms booked for the festival, and as meeting space costs greatly affect ticket costs for participants, instructors are encouraged to stay at the host hotel if overnighting.
As part of your contract, you will be expected to promote the Fibre Festival on your own social media channels. Information and tags will be provided. You will also be expected to mingle with participants as much as time will permit.
When filling out the application, please ensure that the information you are providing is what you would like to see on the PEI Fibre Festival website. Important information such as advance homework, materials that you supply or materials that are supplied by the participants make for a better experience. Your biography is always of great interest to participants as well.
The length of your workshop can be from one hour to a maximum of 12 hours if provided over two days.
The application form allows you to submit multiple workshops in one submission. When thinking of AV material, please ensure you really need the material you are requesting as equipment must be ordered in advance and is non-refundable if not used.
